Today, the staff of the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva met again for a session on strategy. A lot has happened already. Since September 2010, the communion of 140 churches with around 70 Million members and a budget of more than USD 100 Million discusses the strategy until 2017. The journey so far can be discovered on this website. It included several documents and many responses from churches, agencies and regional meetings. Now, the collection phase is over. Different staff groups sift now through the proposals in order to come up with a coherent text that makes clear the priorities for the next six years. This text should be ready by Mid-April. An online discussion of youth representatives of member churches is going to comment on this draft which will be publicly available.
In June then, the LWF council is going to decide on the new strategy. So stay tuned and contribute your ideas and opinions on what the Lutheran communion should focus.
